The Box.net file sharing widget gives you a great looking way to share files with your readers or buddies.
When you add the widget just click on the go get some HTML code link.
Uplading Files
The link will take you to a page like this:
Follow the steps to add files and create your account.
Settings & Embed Code
When you finish uploading, a preview of the widget and its embed code will show up.
If you want to rename the widget or change the settings, use the blue triangle on the widget to access the dropdown menu. You can upload more files from this menu if you want.
Once you are happy with the settings, copy the embed code and paste it into the Box.net Widget on your dashboard. Change the width and height if want and save the changes.
The widget should appear on your site’s sidebar:
Additional Info
- With an exception for MP3 files, it is not possible to block anyone from downloading a file from your Box.net widget on your public blog. Anyone who is able to view your blog can download the files.
- There is not a way to find out who has downloaded your files.
- The code for this widget will only work in the sidebar. It will not work in posts or pages.
