Some themes have their own custom widgets and some themes overwrite the standard widgets. Therefore, the same widget may function a bit differently if you change your blog’s theme.

For example, the Recent Posts Widget settings look like this with most themes:

The Blix theme, however, uses its own Recent Posts Widget and doesn’t provide the option to change the title or choose how many posts to display.
