Note: If you don’t have a Rdio account you will only be able to listen to 30 second previews of the songs.
Embedding with a URL
To quickly embed a Rdio album, song, or playlist, simply copy the shortlink from Rdio. You can get the shortlink by clicking the share button in the upper right hand corner and then copying the shortlink.
Once you have the shortlink simply paste it on a line by itself in your post/page editor.
We take care of the rest! The embed will look something like this.
Embedding with a shortcode
You can also embed music from Rdio using a shortcode. First you need to get the shortlink by clicking the share button in the upper right hand corner and then copying the shortlink.
Then create a shortcode using the format below. Be sure to replace the URL listed here with the URL of your audio, and the code is on a line by itself.
- Make sure the Rdio URL is not hyperlinked. If the URL is shown in your theme’s link color (as the second line in the screenshot below), then it is hyperlinked. To remove the hyperlink, highlight the URL, and click the X in the pop-up box that appears.
- Once the URL is unlinked, you will see the link text in black.
- Make sure to place the Rdio URL or shortcode on its own line. This means there should be no character or whitespace before or after the URL/shortcode.
