Instagram »Instagram Widget

The Instagram widget allows you to display your latest Instagram photos in your site’s sidebar.

Here’s an example of what it looks like when using the Twenty Twelve theme:

The number of images and the number of columns is configurable.

Authorizing Instagram Account Access

After adding the widget, you will need to grant WordPress.com access to the Instagram account that you wish to display images from. You can only display images from an Instagram account that you own or otherwise have access to.

Authorize Instagram Access

After logging into Instagram.com (or if you are already logged in), you will be presented with a screen similar to this:

Click the “Authorize” button to grant WordPress.com access to your Instagram account so that we can retrieve your latest images.

Note that if you have granted WordPress.com access to your Instagram account in the past, then you will not see this prompt again.

You will then be taken back to your site’s widget administration panel where you can further configure the widget.

Instagram Widget Configuration

  • Authorized Account: This is the Instagram account that the widget is currently connected to. Click the “remove” link to remove the link and connect the widget to a different Instagram account.
  • Widget Title: The title to be displayed above your images. You can leave this blank if you want.
  • Images: This controls the number of images that will be displayed.
  • Layout: The number of columns to display your images. The higher the number of columns, the smaller the images will be displayed.

When you’re finished, click Save and then visit your website to see your shiny, new Instagram widget!
