Pages »Page Visibility

In the page editor, click on the Status module in the sidebar to view the page’s Visibility settings. You can set the visibility to public, private, or password protected.

Watch the video below for a quick overview of how it works, and read below for more examples and settings.

Page Visibility options

Set the page visibility

  • Public – The page will be visible to everyone.
  • Private – Pages are only visible to blog Editors and Administrators. Private pages are not visible in the Reader, feeds, or in any search. A page can be private without being password protected.
  • Protected – The page is protected with a password you set. After entering the password, we’ll securely store the password with the browser you viewed it with so you won’t have to enter it again. WordPress will prompt you for the password on your initial visit to a protected page, and only people who have the password can view a protected page.

Private Blog

If you’d like to make your entire blog private, you’ll need to adjust your Privacy Settings.
