PayPal

You can sell individual items on your site using your PayPal account and a button directing your readers to the PayPal payment screen.

Step 1

You will need to log into your PayPal account and get a link code. To do that, you’ll first need to follow steps 1-9 on this page: Get PayPal Button Code. When you’ve done that, click ‘Next Step’ below.

Step 2

Copy the ‘Email’ link that PayPal provides to you in step 7 here. Make sure you choose the ‘Email’ tab, or the code won’t work with your WordPress.com site.

Step 3

Your link code goes between the quotation marks where it says ‘YOUR-LINK-HERE’ in the code provided below:

<a href="YOUR-LINK-HERE">
<img src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_buynow_LG.gif" alt="Buy Now Button" />
</a>

You’ll want to copy the code above, with your link in the ‘YOUR-LINK-HERE’ space, to be ready to paste it into a post or page in the next step.

If you’d like to use a different button image, you can find a few image options by scrolling down to ‘Button Images’ here, or you can create and upload your own image.
