Promotions provide an accessible solution for gift discounts, free shipping, and sales.

Setup

  1. Click the Store link in your sidebar.
  2. Locate Promotions > Add.

Most of the promotion types will display four sections in the Add a Promotion area.

  • Promotion type
  • Applies to
  • Coupon Code & Discount
  • Conditions

Adding a promotion

Choose a Promotion type.

  1. Locate the Promotion type area.
  2. Select a Promotion Type from the dropdown.
  3. There four types of coupon promotions: Product discount, Cart discount, Percent cart discount, and Free Shipping.

Choose which product(s) the coupon applies to.

  1. Locate the Applies area.
  2. Select whether to apply the promotion to All products, Specific products, or Product categories.
  3. If you choose Specific products, you will then need to select (or search for) the specific product(s).
  4. If you choose Product categories, you will then need to select (or search for) the specific product category or categories.

Choose a coupon code and discount level.

  1. Locate the Coupon Code & Discount area.
  2. Enter a unique Coupon code to use for your discount.
  3. Decide on the value of the Product Discount that will be deducted from the user’s purchase when the coupon is used. This discount must be greater than zero.
  4. If you previously chose the Percent cart discount coupon, you will enter a percentage in the Product Discount field. This percentage must be greater than zero.
  5. If you’d like to also include free shipping when the coupon is used, select that option under Free shipping.
  6. If you previously chose the free shipping coupon, you will only need to choose a Coupon code. There will be no Product Discount field or Free shipping checkbox.

Choose whether to apply conditions for the coupon’s use.

  1. Locate the Conditions area.
  2. The options here will allow you to set one or more conditions that need to be met to use the coupon.
  3. End Date: You can choose an end date, after which the coupon will no longer be valid. You will need to choose a date in the future on the provided calendar if you use this option.
  4. Minimum purchase: You may choose a minimum purchase amount, below which the coupon will not be valid. You will need to choose a number greater than zero if you use this option.
  5. Maximum purchase: You may choose a maximum purchase amount, above which the coupon will not be valid. You will need to choose a number greater than zero if you use this option.
  6. Total uses: You may choose a maximum number of times this coupon may be used, after which it will no longer be valid. You will need to choose a number greater than zero if you use this option.
  7. Total uses per customer: You may choose a maximum number of times this coupon may be used by a specific customer, after which it will no longer be valid. You will need to choose a number greater than zero if you use this option.
  8. Combined coupons: Check this box if you’re choosing to not allow this coupon to be used in combination with another coupon or coupons from your store.

Individual Product Sale

  1. Select the Individual product sale option under Promotion type.
  2. Locate the Applies to product area.
  3. Select (or search for) the specific product(s) you would like to go on sale.
  4. Locate the Product & Sale Price area.
  5. Choose a Product Sale Price. This price must be greater than zero.
  6. Locate the Conditions area.
  7. The options here will allow you to choose when the sale for the product will start and/or end.
  8. Start Date: You can choose a start date, after which product will be sold at the sales price you chose earlier. You will need to choose a date in the future on the provided calendar if you use this option.
  9. End Date: You can choose an end date, after which product will no longer be sold at the sales price you chose earlier. You will need to choose a date in the future on the provided calendar if you use this option.
