Troubleshooting Embed Links and Shortcodes
You can embed videos, maps, and many other types of content from many different sites, including: YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, CartoDB, GitHub, CodePen, Instagram, Lytro, Mesh, AolOn, Speaker Deck, Viddler, Hulu, Wistia, Educreations, and Houzz.
If your embed isn’t working, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.
Make sure the embed link is not hyperlinked. You can tell if a URL is hyperlinked by clicking on it. When you click on the URL, if the hyperlink button in the toolbar highlights and a link box with the option to edit appear (like in the screenshot below), it means your link is hyperlinked.
You can remove this hyperlink by clicking on the URL, then clicking on the link icon in the toolbar. A screen will appear with the option to Remove the hyperlink. Click Remove.
An alternate way to remove the hyperlink is to click the X in the box.
Make sure to place the embed link or shortcode on its own line. This means there should be no text or whitespace before or after the link or shortcode.
Changing the alignment of your text (centering for example) or adding style elements will generate HTML formatting around the embed URL which will cause the embed not to work correctly. Try using a shortcode to correct things.
