Using Your Bluehost Domain on WordPress.com
If you currently own a domain that you registered with Bluehost and would like to use it here on WordPress.com, all you need to do is “map” your existing domain to your site. This guide will walk you through configuring your domain at Bluehost to point it to WordPress.com.
You will need a WordPress.com Premium or Business plan on your site in order to map a domain. Each plan comes with a free domain credit you can use to either register a new domain or map one you already own. You can map as many additional domains to the same site as you would like, but you have to pay for additional mapping upgrades separately.

1. Add domain mapping
Go to the Domains page, select your site, and choose the Add Domain option.
Click the Upgrade button next to “Already own a domain?”
Enter the domain you’d like to map and click the blue Add button
Complete the checkout process for the domain mapping and WordPress.com plan (if you didn’t have a plan already).
2. Log into Bluehost
Visit Bluehost’s site and log into your account. Once logged in, click the Domains tab at the top of the page:
Select the domain you want to use at WordPress.com by placing a checkmark in its box:
In the tabs that pop up to the right, select the one that reads “Name Servers”:
Select the second option that reads “Use Custom Nameservers”. In those boxes, enter these name servers:
Note that you will need to click “Add Row” to add all three.
Your name servers should now look like this:
Click the “Save Nameserver Settings” button.
3. Wait for the magic
Once it’s set as the primary, if the domain doesn’t load correctly or you see an error, don’t worry. It can take 24 to 72 hours for your domain name servers (DNS) to update fully. You will also likely need to clear your browser’s cache.
