Embedding with a Shortcode
You can also embed a Blip.tv video using a shortcode. While viewing a video click on the Embed button in the bottom righthand corner. The embed code will be automatically copied to your clipboard.
In your WordPress.com dashboard, go to Posts → Add New or Pages → Add New (or open an existing post/page in editing mode). Paste the code directly into your Text editor. (You can switch between the Visual and Text editors using the tab at the top-right of the editing box.)
Click Save Draft, Update, or Publish depending on the status of your post or page. You will notice that the code has changed. WordPress has converted the HTML code into the working shortcode.
After publishing, the video will look like this:
- Make sure the Blip.tv link is not hyperlinked. If the URL is shown in your theme’s link color (as the second line in the screenshot below), then it is hyperlinked. Simply select the whole URL and click the “Unlink” icon on your Visual Editor toolbar.
Once the URL is unlinked, you will see the link text in black.
- Make sure to place the Blip.tv URL or shortcode on its own line. This means there should be no character or whitespace before or after the URL/shortcode.
