Widgets »Author Grid Widget

The Author Grid Widget is a great way to showcase your blog’s authors in your sidebar. The widget displays the avatars of all your blog’s authors, which link to a list of posts they’ve each written.

Here’s an example of what it looks like when it’s activated on a blog sidebar:

Settings

Once you add the widget to your sidebar from Appearance -> Widgets, you’ll see that the widget settings look like this:

  • Title: Set the title to be shown above the authors list. (i.e. Authors, Contributors)
  • Display all authors: If you do not want to show authors that haven’t published yet, leave this box unchecked. If you want to show all authors, check it.
  • Avatar Size (px): Set the display size of the avatars. (Avatars must be set to display in the Discussion Settings for this to work.)

The Authors Widget is similar to the Author Grid Widget, but it also allows you to display recent posts written by your authors, and gives you the option to show authors’ names instead of their avatars.

To add authors to your blog, please take a look at our instructions on adding users.
