This page is about the menu widget. Are you looking for the regular Custom Menu documentation?

The Navigation Menu Widget allows you to display pages, categories, and custom links in your blog’s sidebar. To use it, you first need to create a custom menu.

Here’s an example of what it looks like when it’s activated on a blog sidebar:

To add the widget:

  • Go to My Sites → Design → Customize → Widgets
  • Select a widget area you want to add the navigation menu widget to
  • Select Add Items to open the widget list
  • Search for the Navigation Menu widget and click on it to add it to your widget area

Once you add the widget to your sidebar in the Customizer, you’ll see the following widget settings:

  • Title: Sets text that will display immediately above the custom menu in the sidebar.
  • Select Menu: Use this to choose which of your custom menus to display. If you haven’t already created a custom menu, you’ll need to do that first on the Menus page.
